Convening the people who make index insurance work

Dalili operates as a convening hub — linking agribusinesses, cooperatives, government agencies and insurers around a shared information base, so information-sharing, collective risk reduction and knowledge exchange happen across a whole value chain, not inside one organisation at a time. There are three concrete ways to work with us.

An overhead angle of a round-table workshop with five or six participants in visibly different roles — field workwear, business attire, one with a laptop, one with printed materials — papers and a laptop on the table, mid-discussion.

What the hub does

A shared table, not a client list

“Convening hub” means three concrete things in practice.

Two or three people from visibly different professional contexts — one in field gear, one in business attire — reviewing a printed map or document together outdoors.
  • Information-sharing

Agribusinesses, cooperatives, government agencies and insurers working from the same risk and market information, instead of each holding a partial picture.

  • Collective risk reduction

Risk reduction planned across the value chain that carries it, not siloed inside one organisation acting alone.

  • Knowledge exchange

Practical experience — from delineation on the ground to distribution and training — moving between the partners in the hub, not staying locked inside one of them.

Ways to work with us

Three paths, three different partners

Which one fits depends on what you are bringing to the table — not a single enquiry form standing in for three different relationships.

  • Track 1

    Implement a programme

Who it's for. For governments, agribusinesses and cooperatives who want an index insurance programme built for their own region or value chain.

What working together looks like. Dalili plugs in as calculation agent and delivery partner: participatory Unit Area of Insurance delineation, custom product design, and the market systems and training that get a programme actually operating on the ground — not a report handed over at the end.

  • Track 2

    Fund or co-design

Who it's for. For donors, DFIs and NGOs evaluating whether to fund or co-design a programme.

What working together looks like. Access to the methodology behind the product — how risk is measured, how a trigger is set, how impact would be tracked — so a programme is designed and evaluated on real evidence, not projected numbers.

  • Track 3

    Distribute through Dalili

Who it's for. For insurers, reinsurers and MFIs looking for a distribution channel already connected to agribusinesses and cooperatives.

What working together looks like. Plug into the convening hub as a distribution partner, reaching the agribusinesses, cooperatives and communities already inside it, on top of the registration, premium-collection and payout systems Market Systems Development already builds.
