How this work actually gets done

Explainers and field notes on designing, pricing and delivering index insurance: how a unit area gets drawn, where basis risk comes from, and why financial literacy belongs in the programme rather than beside it. Written by the people doing the work.

Hands writing in a simple field notebook resting on a knee, with an out-of-focus agricultural landscape behind and the soft-focus edge of a tablet showing an abstract chart nearby.

The first articles are being written

Nothing is published here yet. The opening pieces cover how Unit Areas of Insurance get delineated and why that work is participatory, why basis risk is the central design problem in index insurance, and why financial literacy is risk infrastructure rather than an add-on. They are being written by the Dalili specialists who do that work, which is why they are not here yet.

In the meantime, the full plain-language explainer of how index insurance works covers the same ground in one place.
